Formula used

The calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation: 10 times weight plus 6.25 times height minus 5 times age, with a sex-specific adjustment.

How to read the result

BMR is not the same as maintenance calories. Daily movement, exercise and digestion add energy needs above resting level.
